Aligned Date Fact: September 8, 70 AD — fall of Jerusalem.

Context: First-century historian grounding Jesus’ apocalyptic warnings in historical events. In the Olivet Discourse (Matt 24), Jesus predicted the destruction of the Second Temple and the city of Jerusalem. This angered Jewish high priests and is probably the reason he was crucified. On this day in 70 AD, Jesus prophetic pronouncement was fulfilled.
